Bringing back the O.G.F.N.R.

When we started this thing a few years ago, we would kick F.N.R.'s off at Bdunn's house in Hilton on Peiz ave. Fast forward to 2009, a lot of things have changed. A few people have come and gone, some have moved away, and come to visit us now and again. The friday nite ride or F.N.R. as we like to call it, moved its meeting point from Bdunn's house to Aromas in city center because 7bike7 grew from five people hanging out on a front porch, riding bikes and watching people get crafty with canvas, to a .com to witch an entire city came out of the wood works to show love for it and all aspects of the cycling world, especially the fixed gear drive train.

The Friday night ride meant so much to so many of us, it was what we were stoked on Friday morning on our way to work. At 7p.m. Friday night, you could forget about all of your problems. They didn't matter. It was just you, your bike, your friends, and the road. As time went on though the ride got shorter and shorter, and people became less and less enthused. I want to bring back the original feeling of the F.N.R. where we could laugh while our friends raced each other, when you could have a conversation while cruzing with your friends, when riding bikes wasn't a competition within us.

I invite you to look back through the pages of 7bike7 and remember the fun we've had, and see if we can get inspired again to bring back the real F.N.R. This Friday we'll meet at city center in Newport News at 7:30 and leave by 8:00 to head over J Clyde through Hidenwood and Hilton, stopping at the victory arch downtown near city hall for a chill sesh, and then head back to city center for some after party hang time.Where have all the O.G's gone...I'll see you all there.
